New year, new art… except that this one isn’t quite that new, but only now I was able to post it here. Anyway, after the Big Damn Anvil dropped back in August, I was commissioned to do something similar for Harry and Ginny. I like to think of it as a gift from a flock of canon-thumping sheep some H/Gers to their fellow shippers.

Big Damn Emotional Journey 

I must admit I found this project more challenging than the Ron/Hermione one. First, while I’m an H/G fan, R/Hr is definitely my “OTP.” This also means a lot of these scenes were brand new for me. Second, there are far fewer “H/G scenes” to pick from (which I did in collaboration with a couple of the commissioners). I say “H/G scenes” because in many of them, Harry and Ginny are not actually interacting (or necessarily both in the scene). All the same, I think the final list we came up with includes the scenes that are important to the development of Harry and Ginny on their path to becoming Harry and Ginny. 

I’ve been commissioned to do several epilogue-set or epilogue-era pieces, two of which I’ve already posted. These pieces definitely present a challenge. First, there’s the aging of the adults. After aging the Trio and Ginny year-by-year, it’s quite different to fast forward 19 years! Second, the kids — there’s very little to go on as far as physical description. Obviously, they will look something like their parents, but I also wanted to give each their own look.

Anyway, Gerry commissioned a piece from the epilogue showing both families. Oddly, there’s only one scene where everyone is present…
